This message was conveyed to STOP by *Anna* when she left Hong Kong after months of emotional and financial struggle while waiting for her case to be heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna was arrested at the Hong Kong airport on her way to the Philippines to process a new employment visa. She was handcuffed at the airport departure area and taken to a police station where she was detained for 24 hours before she was allowed to leave after posting bail. She was charged with money laundering; a matter she knew nothing about. Her identity had been used by scammers to deposit HKD289,000 into an online bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna arrived in the office trembling and very distraught. She relayed that being handcuffed by the Police affected her sleep and caused anxiety attacks. STOP referred her to counselling and offered her ongoing support for daily necessities, transportation allowance and visa extension fees. Despite being on bail, which prohibited her from leaving Hong Kong, Anna was still made to regularly pay $230 to extend her visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After eight months of receiving counselling and support from STOP, the Police dismissed all charges and allowed her to return home. STOP provided her with an air ticket home and some financial support for repatriation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without support from STOP, Anna may have felt that she had no choice but to accept a plea bargain for crimes that she didn’t commit. The emotional and financial support provided by STOP gave Anna the time and the strength to fight her case. Equally, without the visa extension money provided by STOP, Anna risked being further arrested for overstaying her visa, despite also being prohibited by her bail conditions from leaving Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c\u6211\u60f3\u85c9\u6b64\u6a5f\u6703\uff0c\u8877\u5fc3\u611f\u8b1d\u5927\u5bb6\u4e00\u76f4\u4ee5\u4f86\u7d66\u4e88\u6211\u7684\u6240\u6709\u652f\u6301\u3002\u4f60\u5011\u7684\u6177\u6168\u8207\u5584\u610f\uff0c\u70ba\u6211\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u5e36\u4f86\u6df1\u9060\u5f71\u97ff\u3002\u7279\u5225\u611f\u6fc0\u5718\u968a\u63d0\u4f9b\u7684\u4ea4\u901a\u652f\u63f4\uff0c\u8b93\u6211\u5f97\u4ee5\u53c3\u8207\u5404\u7a2e\u5c0d\u6211\u6210\u9577\u548c\u5eb7\u5fa9\u81f3\u95dc\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u6d3b\u52d5\u3002\u5c0d\u65bc\u4f60\u5011\u5805\u5b9a\u4e0d\u79fb\u7684\u652f\u6301\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u4fe1\u4efb\u6211\u7684\u6f5b\u80fd\uff0c\u5be6\u5728\u842c\u5206\u611f\u8b1d\u3002\u4f60\u5011\u4e0d\u50c5\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u8cc7\u6e90\uff0c\u66f4\u5e36\u7d66\u6211\u5e0c\u671b\u548c\u9f13\u52f5\uff0c\u9019\u5c0d\u6211\u800c\u8a00\u610f\u7fa9\u975e\u51e1\u3002\u300d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u9019\u756a\u8a71\u662f Anna \u96e2\u958b\u9999\u6e2f\u6642\u5411 STOP \u5718\u968a\u50be\u8a34\u7684\u5fc3\u8072\u3002\u6b64\u524d\uff0c\u5979\u7d93\u6b77\u4e86\u6578\u6708\u60c5\u7dd2\u548c\u8ca1\u52d9\u56f0\u5883\uff0c\u7b49\u5f85\u5176\u6848\u4ef6\u5be9\u8a0a\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna \u5728\u524d\u5f80\u83f2\u5f8b\u8cd3\u8fa6\u7406\u65b0\u5de5\u4f5c\u7c3d\u8b49\u6642\uff0c\u65bc\u9999\u6e2f\u6a5f\u5834\u88ab\u6355\u3002\u5979\u5728\u6a5f\u5834\u96e2\u5883\u5340\u88ab\u6234\u4e0a\u624b\u92ac\uff0c\u88ab\u5e36\u5230\u8b66\u7f72\u62d8\u7559 24 \u5c0f\u6642\u5f8c\uff0c\u624d\u7372\u51c6\u4fdd\u91cb\u96e2\u958b\u3002\u5979\u88ab\u63a7\u6d17\u9ed1\u9322\uff0c\u4f46\u5979\u5c0d\u6b64\u6beb\u4e0d\u77e5\u60c5\u3002\u539f\u4f86\u5979\u7684\u8eab\u4efd\u906d\u9a19\u5f92\u76dc\u7528\uff0c\u5c07\u4e00\u7b46 289,000 \u6e2f\u5143\u7684\u6b3e\u9805\u5b58\u5165\u4e00\u7db2\u4e0a\u9280\u884c\u6236\u53e3\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna \u4f86\u5230 STOP \u8fa6\u516c\u5ba4\u6642\uff0c\u5168\u8eab\u986b\u6296\uff0c\u60c5\u7dd2\u6975\u5ea6\u4e0d\u5b89\u3002\u5979\u61b6\u8ff0\uff0c\u88ab\u8b66\u65b9\u6234\u4e0a\u624b\u92ac\u7684\u7d93\u6b77\u4ee4\u5979\u591c\u4e0d\u6210\u7720\uff0c\u66f4\u5f15\u767c\u7126\u616e\u75c7\u3002STOP \u5718\u968a\u70ba\u5979\u8f49\u4ecb\u5fc3\u7406\u8f14\u5c0e\uff0c\u540c\u6642\u6301\u7e8c\u63d0\u4f9b\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u5fc5\u9700\u54c1\u3001\u4ea4\u901a\u6d25\u8cbc\u53ca\u7c3d\u8b49\u5ef6\u671f\u8cbb\u7528\u7b49\u652f\u63f4\u3002\u5118\u7ba1Anna\u5728\u4fdd\u91cb\u671f\u9593\u88ab\u7981\u6b62\u96e2\u958b\u9999\u6e2f\uff0c\u5979\u4ecd\u9700\u5b9a\u671f\u652f\u4ed8230\u6e2f\u5143\u4ee5\u5ef6\u9577\u5979\u7684\u7c3d\u8b49\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
